It all started in Aspen! Maria and Michael decided to turn their shared love of the famous mountain town into an A-Z tour for children and adults alike. The response was so great, they decided to take the show on the road: Maria's hometown of Chicago, Michael's hometown of Seattle, and on it went.  Today, we get to spend our time discovering the wonders of new cities and states, from breathtaking scenery to local delicacies. It's a tough job, but someone has to do it!

Maria Kernahan is a writer, traveler and art lover who has written all of the Alphabet Cities books as well as a number of novels and short stories. She lives in Chicago with her husband, Will, and their lovable Maltipoo Teddy.

Michael Shafbuch is a celebrated fine artist, with a studio in Seattle. He is known for his acrylic and oil paintings and frequently shows his work around the Seattle area. Michael lives in Seattle and has two boys, Chris & Matt.
